Assalamualaikum and Good Day to all my fellow students,
After a good lecturing environment in a quiet and fully focused in our AEK 2 on last tuesday, we will have another workshop (Basic Modeling) that is scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, 12 November 2014 at CAD Lab PPKM. Please come early as we will do few tutorials and many exercises regarding the basic modeling in solidworks until the end of the class (2 - 5 pm).
As we have promised, each group will have to show me your Group Design Project Sketching. I planned to finished every group review in an hour so that i can give you the first quiz on sketching.
A 15 minutes quiz will be as planned. So be prepared.
And dont forget to submit your first homework before 1.00 pm at PPKM office.
In this post also i included the videos that i have shown you in the last lecture so that you will understand the process in the solidworks software starting from sketch - Basic Modeling - Assembly Modeling - Publish drawings.
And also a video of how you can realize your design in solidworks. Turn up the volume, start your solidworks and dig deeper!
Each student must choose at least 2 parts per student and must avoid standard part.
The parts of interest must be of sufficient complexity in shape and compose of at least 2 or more parts per student for an assembly per group.
You must then:
1. Produce a complete assembly drawing of the parts by using SolidWorks
(Section B - DrSalman & Mr Zihad)
Your grade depends on the quality of your team work and the complexity of the parts. Some criteria to judge your project:
1. Number of components at least 2 parts per student
2. The relative complexity will be ranked among the groups
3. Organisation of the process steps in reaching complete assembly drawing.
4. Number of standard components used from SolidWorks Design Library
2) Submit a hardcopy report consist of:
Acknowledgement
Table of Contents
1. Introduction - project intro and objective (1 page)
2. Step Summary - summary on the most important, critical or interesting steps while creating part(s) and assembly - 2 pages (or maximum 5 pages)
3. Part Modeling - isometric view for each part
4. Assembly Modeling - isometric view and screenshot image on SolidWorks assembly statistics
5. Standard Part - standard components used from SolidWorks Design Library
6. Part Drawing - your name and other details must be included in the title block for each drawing produced by yourself
7. Assembly Drawing - including e-Drawing

3) SolidWorks files must be submitted in cd including the sofcopy of the report.
